Introduction

Ingredients

  • 🥜 2 cups blanched almonds
  • 🍬 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 🌿 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 🍯 1 cup honey
  • 🍋 Zest of 1 lemon
  • 🌿 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 🥟 10 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 🧈 Melted butter, for brushing
  • 🌰 Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

  1. In a food processor, blend the blanched almonds, sugar, orange blossom water, cinnamon, and lemon zest until a paste forms.
  2. Cut each phyllo sheet into strips. Place a small amount of almond paste on one end and fold the phyllo strip over to form a triangle, encasing the filling.
  3. Brush each briouat with melted butter and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 15 minutes, until golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile, warm the honey in a small saucepan over low heat.
  5. Once baked, dip each briouat in the warm honey, then sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for garnish.
